Wonderful Weekend

This past weekend was so much fun and very productive. Friday night Christopher and I had a little date night. I have been craving the Pizza Hut pizza with the triple cheese - cheese topping, stuffed crust and the asiago on top of the crust. So he indulged me and we had dinner there. Perfect Friday dinner in Lent AND it was everything I could have hoped for and then some. But you all know that I am a cheesy chick. Then we went to the golf dome and played miniature golf. Christopher was incredible and got 3 hole in 1's!!! Needless to say he beat me, but only by three :) I am so ready for warmer weather to get outside and play the real thing!

We then relaxed and watched some TV in bed. Christopher left very early Saturday morning with his Dad to visit J and go see Canisius BBall play in the MAAC Tournament. They had a great time but unfortunately Canisius lost to Monmouth. Next year guys!

I on the other hand had a wonderfully productive day AND got to see one of my very close friends Reese. We had lunch together and I made a dairy free cheesy potato recipe. It was one of our favorite dinners we made when we were in college. Yes - we made cheesy potatoes into a main dish. It was so great to see her and catch up. Looking forward to our next girls date soon.

I was pretty pooped by dinner time, so leftover pizza it was! The pups and I then snuggled and watched some TV and had a glass of wine. Sunday was another productive day! I missed Christopher, but man do I get a lot done without him distracting me.

He left Kingston earlier than expected and was home for dinner! It was so great to re-cap the weekend together and I made him his favorite Mini Taco cups. Looking forward to the week ahead!

Canisius vs. Niagara Game

On Tuesday, we went to the Canisius vs. Niagara basketball game. The women's team played at 4:30 and the men's at 8. In between, there was a reception at Canisius' Science Hall.

With work obligations, we were unable to make it to the women's game, but we did make the reception. It was so nice to meet up with friends before the game. There was a pretty good turn out at the reception and included some former Griffin BBallers like Tony Masiello.

I love the rivalry games - there is so much energy in the Koessler Athletic Center. I was surprised that Niagara did not have a lot of fans at the game. Considering the schools are only 30 minutes apart, both schools travel well when playing each other.

Unfortunately our men's team lost to Niagara. It was a pretty bad game :( But the women's team won! Canisius has a bye going into the MAAC tournament, which is being held in Albany this year. We are thinking about traveling to the tournament and bringing J! My father in law is looking into tickets. We shall see!!!

GO GRIFFS!

Canisius College's Regents Ball

This past weekend, Christopher and I attended the annual Canisius College Regents Ball. It is their annual fundraiser for the student scholarship fund and they present a distinguished citizens award. This year's recipient was Russ Brandon, CEO of the Buffalo Bills.

We had a wonderful time. We started off the event by having some pre-event beverages at the Hofer's. Then we headed over to the Hyatt to continue our cocktail drinking and to try and win some of the amazing raffle items. They had everything from a trip to Disney, Hilton Head, Keuka Lake, Ellicottville to Buffalo dining packages, Elmwood shopping package and the best one...a fully stocked liquor basket. Unfortunately, Christopher and I won none. We will get 'em next year!

Russ Brandon was a fun speaker and I enjoyed his speech. John Murphy, the "voice of the Bills," was our auctioneer for the night and he did a great job. They auctioned off three Football related items - Super Bowl package, Hall of Fame weekend package and a suite and on-field passes for a Bills home game. I think Christopher drooled over each one.

Then of course there is the dancing part. I even got Christopher out on the dance floor for a bit. Overall it was a fun night spent with friends new and old.
