Taco Bake is a winner!

One of Christopher's favorite meals is tacos. I usually try to plan a "taco" meal every other week. Simple enough, right? I thought I would spice things up last week and make a taco bake. It was super easy and delicious (we drove right into eating and I forgot to take a picture of the completed product - oops, but it really was that good!).

So good we forgot to take a picture!

Easy Taco Bake - serves 4 (unless you are really hungry, then 2)
1 lb ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning
1 can of refrigerated crescent rolls
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3/4 cup crushed Doritos (we used the regular cheese flavor)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a pan, brown the ground beef until cooked through. Drain the beef. In the pan mix in the packet of taco seasoning and about 1/3 cup water. Simmer on low to thoroughly mix in the seasoning. While that is simmering, use a square pyrex pan and roll out the crescent rolls. I kept them together in rectangles and did not pull them apart. This made it easy to spread them out on the bottom of the pan. Depending on the size of the crescent rolls, some may fold up the sides - that is okay.

After the crescents are rolled out in the pan and the taco seasoning is cooked through the beef, sprinkle the taco meat in the pan on top of the crescent rolls. Try to sprinkle the beef as evenly as possible. Then, top the beef with cheese, and then top with the crushed Dorito chips. Bake for about 15 minutes or until the crescent "crust" looks like it has browned. Let cool for 5 minutes and cut into the goodness.
